An insurance company linked to deputy President William Ruto is on the spot for allegedly concealing its assets from auctioneers. Africa Merchant Assurance Company (Amaco) is in court with an NGO, Mama Rael Memorial Foundation over a Sh19 million debt. An Asian woman and four Kenyans have been linked to a debit card fraud. The Assets Recovery Agency (ARA) is seeking to recover an estimated Sh2.3 billion believed to be proceeds of crime. In an application filed at the High Court, the State agency said the four; Monthida Rashi (Loatian), Stephen Njenga Maina, Felix Rantuu Lekishe, Solomon Joseph Maina and Robert Lemerketo, held the billions of shillings in two accounts at Ecobank. Gabrielle Hannah Van Straten, sister of late Dutch tycoon Tob Cohen, claims her brother was forced into his marriage with Sarah Wairimu. Nairobi-based All Africa Conference of Churches (AACC) wants Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja’s degree withdrawn. The organization wants Uganda’s Team University to invalidate the senator’s Bachelor of Science in Management degree, according Ugandan publication the Monitor. Yesterday, the Media Council of Kenya (MCK) released a report on media performance on election campaign reporting which revealed that Raila Odinga and his running mate, Martha Karua received more coverage than their competitors, William Ruto and Rigathi Gachagua. Simbisa Brands Kenya, the owner of Galitos, Chicken Inn, Pizza Inn and Creamy Inn, has been accused of mistreating its employees.
