Residents of Usenge in Siaya County are demanding the immediate transfer of Rural Border Patrol Base Police officers( QRT) along the Bondo-Usenge road. Led by Yimbo East MCA Francis Otiato, the residents claim the police posted to man the border have turned into criminals engaging in extortion and brutality. Nakumatt has suffered another set back at the Garden City Mall following a 30-day eviction notice issued to them by the mall owners. According to reports, the retailer chain had been told to vacate the mall by October 6 and as a result GC Retail is seeking a court order to repossess the space occupied by the anchor tenant. The Government of Kenya along with domestic lenders have come to Kenya Airways’ aid after agreeing to convert the airline’s $405.3 debts into equity. According to reports, the government will now have a controlling 48.9 percent stake in the company.
