Uasin Gishu County Women Representative and former Chief Registrar of the Judiciary Gladys Boss Shollei has finally divorced former Standard Group Managing Director Sam Shollei. In a ruling delivered early last week in Nairobi, MP Gladys Shollei has been given a favourable ruling allowing her to keep the urban home in Kitisuru Estate Nairobi and the matrimonial farm in Uasin Gishu. The University of Nairobi Student Leader Anne Mwangi Mvurya is on the spot over drug links within campus. In a publication by Citizen weekly, the 21 year old law student is apparently being probed by the state in regards to drugs and money laundering, with her sources of wealth questioned. Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) managing director Naim Bilal has banned discussion of Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) on all TV and Radio stations owned by the State corporation, Kahawa Tungu has learnt. It is intimated to this writer that Evans Makori (Presenter at Minto FM) invited Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi to discuss the BBI among other things on the station. East African Development Bank (EADB) is embroiled in a loan tussle with Jubilee Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju amounting to Ksh1.5 billion. The loan was advanced to Tuju’s Dari Limited for the construction of Ksh100 million two-storey, flat-roofed bungalows sitting on a 20-acre forested land dubbed Entim Sidai and purchase of a 94-year-old bungalow built by a Scottish missionary, Dr Albert Patterson, which currently operates as a high-end restaurant. There was a fight at Kenya Pipeline and yesterday (2 January) after acting Kisumu Kenya Pipeline depot manager John Chege refused to obey orders by the Principal Secretary Petroleum Andrew Kamau. Mr Kamau called John Chege and ordered the Depot Manager to quickly load fuel onto Kenya Railways wagons as President Uhuru Kenyatta was reportedly planning to visit the depot and inspect the wagons loaded with fuel. The government is on the spot after it merged that Antiretroviral (ARVs) drugs meant for Kenyans were last year shipped to a country in West Africa after the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) demanded tax. The drugs donated by the United States government, through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), landed in the port of Mombasa in October last year. Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko is a mysterious man, from how he shot into the political arena to his personal life. What is not a secret however is that the embattled county chief was once in the penitentiary system. According to the BBC, Sonko escaped from a maximum security prison some 20 years ago. The man arrested for disrupting a Inua Mama rally in Wajir county on Friday was allegedly paid by Wajir Woman Representative Fatuma Gedi. Sources privy to the details told Kahawa Tungu that the suspect, Ali Yassin Mohammed jetted in Wajir aboard a Jetway plane from Mombasa.
