The Communications Authority (CA) has suspended TV stations linked with alleged cult leaders; Paul Mackenzie and Ezekiel Odero. The Authority on Friday shut down broadcasting by World Evangelism TV and Times TV. CA Director-General Ezra Chiloba said the stations were found to have aired inappropriate content during the watershed period. Chiloba noted that World Evangelism flouted 12 broadcasting license conditions while Times TV violated 17 of them. General Francis Ogolla has been named the new Chief of Defence Forces in changes in the military. He replaces General Robert Kibochi has been replaced by Ogolla, who stepped down after attaining the retirement age of 62. President William Ruto on Friday promoted Ogolla to the rank of General. The direct attack on the Kenyatta family-owned NCBA bank has investors fleeing the Kenyan market. The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) is demanding Sh900 million from the lender in a tax exemption issued during the 2019 CBA-NIC merger. Controversial preacher Ezekiel Odero has been arraigned in Shanzu. The police on Friday sought to hold the preacher for 30 days as they investigate suspicious deaths in his church. They also told the court some of the people who died at the accused person’s church were buried in cult leader, Paul Mackenzie’s Shakahola land. “He is linked to several occurrence book reports of almost 100 deaths that occurred in the church between 2022 and 2023. Lawyer Danstan Omari has sued Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wa for allegedly publishing a damaging tweet. Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji has now instructed the police to seize controversial pastor Paul Mackenzie’s property.
