Kenya has announced 1,068 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours. This was after a sample of 7,556 was tested. The caseload is now at 47,212. Kenya has announced 497 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours. This was from a sample size of 4,888 bringing the caseload to 46,144. Through a press statement, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe further announced that 16 patients have succumbed to the virus. The death toll is now at 858. A Nairobi court has issued a warrant of arrest against Kilifi governor Amason Kingi following an extortion case. Citizen reports that the country boss has on several occasions failed to appear for the case detailing 4 men who allegedly attempted to extort him Sh30 million. This in turn has left the case in limbo. The court thus wants the governor arrested alongside another witness where they will be presented in court for further direction. Two men, Joseph Karanja and Daniel Ndambuki are set to be arraigned in court today for impersonating immigration personnel by running a fake Facebook account and using it to con Kenyans. The duo were arrested after reports indicated that they were running the Facebook Page dubbed “Immigration Customer KE” where they posted information relating to immigration services.
