Another fire has broken out in Tsavo East National Park making it the fourth to have ravaged the park in a span of two months. Last week, July 23, 2020, a huge fire raged the Tsavo National Park consuming hundreds of acres, less than a month after another fire razed 180 acres of forest. Kenya National Highways Authority (KENHA) has announced that a section of Thika road will be closed from Friday, July 31 to Sunday, August 2 between 9.30 pm and 4.30 am. Taita Taveta woman representative Lydia Haika is on the spot after her car reportedly hit and killed a pedestrian along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway.
