64 people have been arrested for allegedly trying to bribe security officers at Chania roadblock in Thika while attempting to cross over illegally amid Covid-19 restrictions. Two employees from Kenya Power have had to flee for their lives after attempting to disconnect power in Umoja over unpaid dues. Mathew Ochieng is nursing serious injuries at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) after his hand got chopped off representing a politician’s interest. Health CAS Dr Mercy Mwangangi has announced 155 new Coronavirus cases after 4,171 samples were tested within the last 24 hours raising the tally to 4,952. Speaking during the daily COVID-19 updates at Afya House, the CAS indicated that 102 more people have been discharged from the hospital bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,782. Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has suffered the first blow in the impeachment motion filed against her after the Senate Select Committee declined to expunge documents filed by Kirinyaga County Assembly.
