Former Kasarani MP John Chege has been fined Sh1.3 million for soliciting and receiving a bribe amounting to Sh100,000. The court case first commenced in 2013 where he was arraigned in an anti-corruption court in Milimani while still in office. In a ruling by anti-corruption court magistrate Lawrence Mugambi, the ex-MP was found guilty as the evidence provided proved the offense was committed. Late veteran Paul Ngei’s daughters have sought to have his adopted son blocked from being included as a beneficiary to his estate. According to the Standard, one of the daughters, Elizabeth Nduku Mwanthi filed a petition to the high court to block her adopted brother George Kasyoka Ngei aka Nakron from inheriting part of the estate. Fear has engulfed City Hall after an officer in the procurement department tested positive for Coronavirus. At least 10 officers have been urged to test for the virus and isolate following the positive test from their colleague.
