Two people, a man and a woman have been arrested in Thika for using false identities to swindle money from clients. According to the DCI, the duo masqueraded as lawyers and received money from clients in the form of legal fees. They were arrested following an operation done with the help of officials from the Law Society of Kenya (LSK). This was after numerous complaints from clients. Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has consented to his first wife Madinna Fazzini’s request to terminate their marriage. Madina Fazzinni had sought a divorce from the County boss on January 26 stating that their union had completely broken down and there was no room for reconciliation. “There is no hope or possibility of reconciliation or compromise of whatsoever nature between me and the governor,” she said through lawyer Aziz M Ngare. Kenya has today confirmed 28 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours after 5,617 samples were tested. The country’s caseload is now at 322,545. This brings the positivity rate to 0.5% with the cumulative tests so far conducted now at 3,310,294. One death has been recorded pushing the country’s death toll to 5,633. Also, 52 patients have recovered, 40 from the Home-Based Isolation & Care program & 12 are from the various health facilities. DCI detectives have arrested two masterminds behind the vandalism of KPLC infrastructure in different parts of the country. The two, Thomas Anasi aged 38 and Joseph Kagwi aged 36 have been linked to high-level crimes where they are said to have made millions through vandalization of KPLC equipment. Notably, Anasi is a former line technician at KPLC while Kagwi is a businessman based in Thika. Vaccination Update. As of February 14th, 2022, a total of 15,616,694 vaccines had been administered across the country. Of these, 7,505,604 are partially vaccinated & 7,109,900 are fully vaccinated. A form four student, Emily Ndunge is among three people who have been charged with attempted murder after poisoning Garissa MCA. Garissa MCA Teresia Queen had on January 11 escaped a near-death experience after her syrup was mixed with poison. A police officer is among five people who have been arraigned in court for the theft of materials used in the construction of Nairobi Express Way. The officer, Thomas Odira Musasa who is attached to the Criminal Investigation Patrol Unit (CIPU) had been tasked with guarding the Express Way on Saturday. Kisumu Boys High school principal Peter Obwogo has died at Aga Khan hospital. This has been confirmed by Board of Management (BOM) chairman Charles Nyakiti. Mr Obwogo has been teaching for the past 35 years, 5 of which he spent as a school principal. Before joining Kisumu Boys, he was a principal at St Joseph Boys in Kitale.
