The latest reshuffle in the Police Service has seen the North Eastern region get new police commanders. In the changes announced by the police headquarters, the North Eastern Regional Police commander is now George Seda. Seda served as Mandera County Police Boss. The new commander for Mandera county is S Tanui while Eastern police boss Ronald Opili was recalled to police headquarters, Vigilance House. Police have arrested 11 students from Naivasha High School who are suspected to have caused the Sunday night dormitory inferno. The 11 will help in the investigations into the fire that razed down two dormitories in the school. Reports indicate that the affected dormitories had a population of 104 students mostly form one and twos. Vaccination Update:  As of January 30, 2022, a total of 12,252,574 vaccines have been administered across the country. 6,521,728 are partially vaccinated & 5,520,712 fully vaccinated. Another 61,437 are doses administered to those between 15 to 18 years while 148,697 are booster doses. The uptake of the second dose among those who received their first dose was at 63.0%. A traffic police officer in Bomet County is in trouble for allegedly driving a car into a ditch after the owner refused to heed his bribe demands. Reports indicate that the said officer stopped a Toyota Probox along the enwek bridge on the Silibwet-Merigi–Kiptagich road and solicited fro bribe. Ida Odinga has issued an apology over her remarks calling for the regulation of small churches following public uproar. Sleuths from the DCI have arrested a Bahrain National who was found carrying Sh110 million in Dollars at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA). According to the authorities, Khalid Jameel Saeed was inbound on an Egyptian flight headed to Manama when he was intercepted. A man has hanged himself after murdering his three-year-old son, Derrick Okeyo in Nairobi’s Tassia Estate. Victor Ayieko and Nancy Adhiambo were married and shared a three-year-old son. However, they went their separate ways and Nancy later re-married to Christopher Okeyo. On one fateful day, Ayieko abducted Derrick from their home in Tassia after Nancy and the husband left the home for the day. Dancan Hardson Bala, a Jumia rider is facing jail time over Sh22,000 he stole from his employer, North Wind Delivery Services located in Kibera.
