At least 20 people have been reported dead after a bus that was ferrying people to a wedding plunged into River Enziu in Mwingi, Kitui County. In videos making rounds on social media, the bus was captured shortly before it plunged into the river with passengers screaming for help. Through a statement by CA Director General Ezra Chiloba, the decision was arrived at following investigations of content considered inappropriate aired on 3rd October 2021. A morning Al Shabaab attack in Mandera County has left two police officers dead and 10 other people nursing serious injuries. Reports indicate that the attack happened at around 9 am where officers who were riding on a lorry from Rhamu to Mandera were ambushed. Only 11,000 people will be allowed at Uhuru Gardens ahead of the Jamhuri Day Celebrations slated for December 12, 2021, the government has announced. Through a statement, Interior PS Karanja Kibicho announced that 10,000 people will be allowed at the public grounds and 1,000 in the dais. Of these, 4,539,928 were partially vaccinated while those fully vaccinated were 2,877,348. The uptake of the second dose among those who received their first dose was at 57.2%.
