Renowned New Zealand entrepreneur, Jake Millar who founded Sh1.2 billion startups was reported dead in Kenya on Monday,  aged 26 years. Kahawa Tungu had earlier reported about his death although we could not substantiate the cause of his death. Detectives are probing an incident in Gichugu, Kirinyaga County when a court clerk attempted to take away his life. The circumstances surrounding his suicide attempt are yet to be determined as he was just found unconscious at Kianyaga Stadium with injuries to his neck. Confirming the incident, Gichugu Sub-county police commander Anthony Mbogo said the clerk has since been taken to Kirinyaga Level IV hospital and is receiving treatment. Concerns have been raised after a correspondent at Nation Media Group (NMG), Tesfa-Alem Tekle, went missing while on duty in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Reports indicate that the correspondent, Tesfa-Alem Tekle had been apprehended by Ethiopian authorities in Addis Ababa on October 31, 2021. President Uhuru Kenyatta has called on other nations not to close their borders over the emergence of the new Covid-19 variant, Omicron. Through his state of the Nation Address, Uhuru urged the neighboring nations to be lenient and not close borders over the new variant adding that the move will derail the economic recovery. A petitioner is seeking to have politician and businessman Jimmy Wanjigi arrested over the possession of illegal firearms and ammunition. An autopsy conducted on the body of veteran journalist and blogger Gatonye Gathura has revealed that he was murdered by a laptop cable. Police have arrested a 35-year-old man, Paul Murage Njuki for killing his wife and four children in Kirinyaga. According to police reports, the man surrendered to the police station on Monday and confessed to having committed the atrocities.
