President Uhuru Kenyatta has ordered the Ministry of Energy to implement cost reduction changes at the Kenya Power and Lightening Company (KPLC). Through a statement, the Head of State directed the Energy CS Charles Keter to implement the changes recommended by the Presidential Task Force Review of Power purchase. Three children are dead after a fire razed down their house in Turi farmers, Elbourgon on Tuesday night. The three were aged 4, 5 and 6 years. Reports by a local publication reveal that the children were alone when the fire broke out. Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have rescued a 14-year-old girl who had been abducted from her parent’s home in Nyeri. The incident happened on August 25, 2021. A fire that razed a house in Taru, Kwale County has left four family members dead. The incident happened yesterday night. The Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) has shut down 84 illegal pharmacies within the Nyanza region in its latest crackdown. The crackdown covered the counties of Kisumu, Nyamira, Kisii, Homabay, Migori and Siaya and targeted those pharmacy outlets that were found to have flouted regulations. Kenya will commence the vaccination of minors (those aged below 18 years) in January next year. According to the National Task Force on vaccine Deployment, this will constitute the third phase of mass vaccination in the country ahead of the 2022 General elections slated for August.
