The government has temporarily restricted matatus from using the Nairobi Expressway following the recent accidents. In a statement issued by Transport CS James Macharia, all PSVs carrying more than 7 passengers are no longer allowed on the Expressway. The temporary ban, the CS said is set to aid in investigating the cause of accidents that have now become uncontrolled. Police have launched a manhunt for a suspect, Kipchumba Michael Kibet who is behind the cultivation of bhang worth Sh1 million guised as potted plants in Eldoret. The Covid-19 positivity rate in Kenya is now at 7.9% as 108 people contracted the virus in the last 24 hours. This was after a sample size of 1,366 was tested. Several people are feared dead following a ghastly accident at Miti Mbili, Turbo town. The accident involved two PSV matatus and two trailers. Confirming the same, Uasin Gishu police boss Ayub Gitonga said a Nissan matatu first rammed into a lorry that was heading to Webuye.
