A family in Kerugoya, Kirinyaga County is in distress after the body of their 7-month-old infant who died of pneumonia vanished from the county hospital. Sleuths from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested three suspected M-Pesa fraudsters in Isiolo. The three, identified as Mary Hinga, Samwel Ndirangu and Josephine Tanui are said to have defrauded Mpesa agents large sums of money. They were arrested yesterday. The nationwide dusk (10 pm) till dawn (4 am) curfew has been extended in new measures to combat the spread of Covid-19 in the country. Addressing the press today, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe issued a warning to patients who are self-medicating respiratory illnesses adding that lives have been lost in the process. A Wednesday evening accident involving an ambulance from Kirinyaga County and a NENO Sacco matatu has left 11 people nursing serious injuries. The accident happened in Mwea where the ambulance headed to Kerugoya from Embu hospital crashed with the matatu that was heading to Embu from Nairobi. 23-year-old Egerton University student Edward Njage who had gone missing has been found dead within the school compound. Allies of the National Super Alliance Coalition (NASA) will now get Sh152 million after the protracted row over funds disbursed to political parties. According to the Standard, the five opposition political parties will each get their shares of the funds based on the votes attributed to the parliamentary seats. Caroline Kangogo died of a gunshot wound with the bullet passing through the brain, skull, government pathologist Johansen Oduor has revealed. Kangogo shot herself dead with a pistol at her parent’s home in Elgeiyo Marakwet on July 16, 2021. She had been missing for over two weeks after allegedly shooting dead two men.
