Milimani Magistrate Daniel Ndugi has dismissed an application by City Pastor James Maina Ng’ang’a to bar media from covering Sh3.6 million fraud case. Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha has banned the hiring of school buses for private events. The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has reviewed fuel prices for the period starting June 15 to July 14, 2021. In this month’s review, the price of Petrol has increased by Sh0.77 as diesel and kerosene remain constant retaining the April and May prices. “In the period under review, the price for Super Petrol increases by Sh0.77 per litre while that of Diesel and Kerosene remain unchanged,” reads the statement in part. The government has suspended Bungoma’s Nzoia Sugar Company MD Wanjala Makokha for three months over corruption allegations. The suspension was announced by Lawrence Omuhaka, the CAS for Agriculture who revealed that the decision was arrived at by the state in a bid to restructure the company. Kisumu County government has threatened to take legal action over unclaimed bodies in the mortuaries. Through a statement, the county officials have issued a 48-hour ultimatum to all mortuaries to have unclaimed bodies disposed of. The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) selection panel has shortlisted 36 candidates to fill four commissioner posts. Over 700 candidates had applied to fill the positions according to a gazette notice. A murder suspect identified as Francis Mwangi who had wrestled police officers and escaped en route to the hospital on Thursday night has been re-arrested.
