The body of former Kibwezi MP Kalembe Ndile has arrived at his Mbui Nzau home in Makueni County ahead of afternoon burial. The body was transferred from Lee Funeral Home in the wee hours of Friday morning heading to his rural home where he will be laid to rest. Reports by the family indicate that the burial will be conducted in accordance with Covid-19 protocols as directed by the Ministry of Health. Two men, Henry Onganga and Enoch Shitemi, owners of Muthangari Gardens accused of illegally connecting electricity in Nairobi have been freed in bond. The duo has been freed on Sh100,000 bond or Sh20,000 cash bail after denying the charges. According to court documents, the private developers connected electricity to their Lavington Apartments illegally which contravenes the energy act. Kenya has recorded 624 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours after 6,728 samples were tested. The country’s caseload is now at 174,285. The United States has issued a travel advisory against Kenya over increased terrorism activities, kidnappings and spike in Covid-19 cases. Through a statement, the US Department of State cautioned its citizens against traveling to some parts of Kenya including Kibra, Turkana, Kenya-Somalia border and Eastleigh. “Do Not Travel to the Kenya-Somalia border and some coastal areas due to terrorism, areas of Turkana County due to crime and Nairobi neighborhoods of Eastleigh and Kibera at all times due to crime and kidnapping. Kenya has launched a new online tool that gives the public a much-needed opportunity to report child sexual abuse material on the internet. Once a material containing child sexual abuse is reported, the tool allows a team of analysts who assess the materials reported thus able to block or remove the illegal content from the internet. Police authorities are hunting for two prisoners who managed to escape from Ekerenyo Police Station. Reports indicate that the two, Abdul Hassan and Jared Getangi escaped while being escorted to the toilet by Constable Michale Sifuna. According to the Star, the couple was arrested yesterday after medical results revealed that their child was suffering from battered child syndrome.
