Kenya Railways has today launched train plying from Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD) to Limuru. Through a schedule posted on Twitter, the train will be operating in the morning and evening hours hence convenient for commuters. For instance, the train will leave Limuru at 5.30 am passing through Kikuyu, Dagoretti, Kibera before arriving at the Nairobi CBD at 7.52 am. 933,436 Kenyans have so far been vaccinated against Covid-19 disease, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has announced. Of those vaccinated,  284,411 are aged 58 years and above, 162,396 are health workers, 146,538 are Teachers, 79,906 are Security Officers and 261,185 are others. The country’s Covid-19 caseload is now at 165,112 after 392 tested positive from a sample size of 3,668. Four people have been confirmed dead after they were swept away by floods while attempting to cross Mutuine River in Kibra. According to reports by a local publication, the four were on motorbikes thus wanted to cross the river from Lang’ata to Kibra slums in Nairobi County. An ex-police officer was fatally shot in Gilgil while he attempted to cut down a metal signboard and sell it as scrap metal, IG Hillary Mutyambai has confirmed. The ex-officer has been identified as Arnold Madete and was shot dead on Wednesday night. There is a traffic snarl-up on Ngong Road after a 14-seater matatu overturned in the middle of the road. Former Deputy Commander at the General Service Unit (GSU) William Singoei has been found dead in a room in Embakasi. This has been confirmed by Regional Police Commander Augustine Nthumbi who revealed that his juniors had been trying to reach him on phone since Tuesday to no avail. Transport has been paralyzed and travelers left stranded after the Oria-Riat bridge along the Migori-Homa Bay road collapsed. According to Citizen, the bridge collapsed in the wee hours of Wednesday morning with a trailer that was transporting sugarcane.
