Two fishermen have been confirmed dead after the boat they were traveling in capsized in Lake Victoria. Confirming the same Nyangina Beach Management Unit chairman Joseph Ouma Kaseu said the fishermen were on a fishing expedition when their boat was rammed into by a ferry. This reportedly happened due to vision impairment as the captain of the ferry could not see clearly due to darkness. Police have rescued Mavoko MP aspirant Daniel Mbevi who had gone into hiding following an attack by goons in Athi River. Mbevi who is vying on an independent ticket was holding campaigns at Makadara shopping Centre in Athi River, Machakos County. Kenya has confirmed 419 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours after 3,610 samples were tested. The country’s caseload is now at 11.6% with the cumulative tests so far conducted now at 3,728,165. Of the new cases, 287 are foreigners while 132 are Kenyans. 227 are males while 92 are females with the youngest person to have contracted the virus being a 1-year-old.
