Mututho sought the help of the court to stop the auction where the 8-bedroom property had been put on sale by Garam Auctioneers. Senior Resident Magistrate Peter Muholi has suspended the auction until an application is heard and determined. Kenya has announced 834 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours after 8,498 samples were tested. The country’s caseload is now at 158,326. Of the new cases, 805 are Kenyans while 29 are foreigners. 499 are males and 335 are females. The youngest is a fourteen-day-old infant while the oldest is 100 years. Sadly, 23 deaths have also been recorded bringing the country’s death toll to 2,688. 579 patients have also recovered from the virus bringing the tally for recoveries in the country to 107,882. Kenya has announced 511 new Covid-19 cases after a sample size of 4,020 was tested in the last 24 hours. The country’s caseload is now at 157,492. The country’s positivity rate is at 12.7% with the cumulative tests so far conducted standing at 1,651,008. From the cases, 477 are Kenyans while 34 are foreigners. 280 are males and 231 are females. The National Assembly will hold special sittings from Wednesday, April 28, 2021, to debate the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) bill among other matters. 7 journalists are nursing serious injuries sustained from police beatings while they were covering the Tana and Athi River Development Authority (TARDA) demolitions in Mbeere, Embu County. The journalists were arrested alongside Mbeere South Member of Parliament Geoffrey King’ang’i but were released on Saturday night. Four families have been left in anguish after their kins dissapeared just after having a lunch meeting in Kitengela on April 19, 2021. Reports by a local publication reveal the identities of the four men as Elijah Obuong aged 35, Benjamin Amache Imbai aged 30, Brian Oduor aged 36 and Jack Ochieng aged 37. At least 900 Kenyans are caught up in the Covid-19 crisis in India. The Kenyan authorities have reportedly raised concerns over the spike of Covid-19 cases in India and have called on Kenyan nationals to register their details with the Kenya High Commission in New Delhi as the state finds a way forward.
