Kenya has announced 1,152 Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours bringing the country’s caseload to 129,330. This was after 8,397 samples were tested. The cumulative tests so far conducted in the country are 1,463,458. Sadly, 6 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours bringing the tally for fatalities in the country to 2,104. 152 patients have recovered from the disease. 59 are from the Home-Based and Isolation Care, & 93 are from various health facilities. You have until Sunday, March 28, 2021, to move in and out of counties under lockdown, Government Spokesperson Cyrus Oguna has said. The Political Parties Dispute Tribunal has upheld the decision by Jubilee Party to expel six nominated senators for going against the party. According to a local publication, the Disputes tribunal after deliberating on the reports stated that the Party was in order to have the Senators dismissed. Five suspected robbers who have allegedly been involved in attacks in Mombasa have been gunned down by police. According to Nation, the suspected robbers were gunned down by a special police squad from Nairobi after several complaints of attacks in the area. A 56-year-old man was arrested in Nandi County after having sat the Kenya Certificate of Secondary School Exams (KCSE) on behalf of a candidate. According to police reports, the man identified as Geoffrey Rono impersonated the candidate Cleophas Kavulavu at Ndurio Secondary School which is against the exam regulations. Kenya has announced 2,008 new covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours after 11,360 samples were tested. The country’s caseload is now at 128,178. The country’s positivity rate is now at 17.7% with the cumulative tests so far conducted standing at 1,455,061. The High Court has issued temporary orders suspending the implementation of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) if passed by parliament. The Pharmacy and Poisons Board has arrested at least 58 people as the crackdown on illegal pharmacies in the Coast intensified. Persons over the age of 58 years will be prioritized in phase one of the vaccination process, the Ministry of Health has announced.
