The Kenya Medical Practitioners Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) has warned that there are no more ICU beds available in hospitals as COVID-19 cases in the country continue to surge. Speaking on Tuesday, the union secretary-general Chibanzi Mwachonda further revealed that healthcare workers have not been spared as 10 are currently admitted in hospitals with covid-19. “The rising numbers of infections have not spared healthcare workers. 10 doctors are currently admitted, ” Mwachonda said. Two people have been left dead after the driver of their vehicle attempted to overtake an ambulance in Wote, Machakos County. Four Kenyan police officers are set to stand trial in the murder of British aristocrat Alex Monson who died in their custody in 2012. In a ruling by High Court Judge Erick Ogolla, the officers should answer to what happened to Monson since he was in perfect health when arrested and in their custody. “The accused should tell the court what happened since the deceased was arrested in good health,” the judge ruled. The bodyguard attached to Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya is in trouble following a gun drama in a bar on Saturday night. A Nairobi court has acquitted gospel singer Bahati’s former manager, Peter Blessings in sh2 million fraud case on the ground that it is an abuse of the court process. Kenya has announced 1,354 more COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours. This was after 7,732 samples were tested. The country’s caseload is now at 118,889. National Lands Commission (NLC) official Jennifer Itumbi Wambua was strangled to death, autopsy results have shown. The autopsy was conducted today at the Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home on Mbagathi Way by government pathologist Johannsen Oduor. “The oesophagus had collapsed showing she was strangled by use of hands,” lawyer Daniel Maanzo said as briefed by the pathologist.
