Budalangi authorities have banned disco matangas amid rising cases of defilement, killings in the area. Reports indicate that the Budalangi Disaster Management committee convened a meeting last week on Thursday at the sub-county headquarters and resolved to ban the night parties. This comes just after a 17-year-old girl was defiled and killed in a gruesome manner in the neighboring Funyula constituency. Kenya has recorded 181 new COVID-19 cases out of a sample size of 5,577 tested in the last 24 hours. The total confirmed positive cases are now 105,648. The cumulative tests so far conducted are 1,295,556. On a sad note, one patient has succumbed to the disease pushing our cumulative fatalities to 1,854. 88 patients have recovered from the disease, 46 from various health facilities, while 42 are from the Home-Based and Isolation Care. Alfred Nyadera Nyakwama, a man who tortured and stabbed his girlfriend in Embakasi’s Pipeline area has been freed. According to Star, Jane Mutheu, the victim who was also his girlfriend has withdrawn the charges that were leveled against the suspect. Alfred had been charged with attempted murder for torturing the girlfriend for four hours before stabbing her severally with a knife on the head, shoulders, hands and back. Through a gazette notice dated Friday 26, 2021, Boga has been appointed Chairperson of the Coast Water Works Development Agency (CWWDA) by water CS Sicily Kariuki. Nyamira County is on the spot over the misuse of bursary funds meant to cushion needy students as Sh126 million is untraceable. The graft case involving Migori County Governor Okoth Obado and others will be heard and determined in Nairobi, the court has ruled.
