The plan to impeach Deputy President William Ruto has reportedly kicked off with 126 Jubilee MPs appending signatures in support of the motion. In a report by a local publication, Lugari MP Ayub Savula revealed that the motion to have the DP impeached is in the signature collection stage. Further reports indicate that other 107 MPs from the NASA coalition are being sought to append their signatures before parliament fully resumes session. The tale of Charles Nderitu, a 45-year-old disabled man is one that threw social media into a frenzy with the majority calling for justice after he was hit by a vehicle and died en route to the hospital. Former Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso’s widower Edwin Abonyo has been granted the rights to manage their Sh100 million estate. Through his lawyer Fred Athuok, Abonyo had sought to be given authority to manage his deceased wife’s estate and sought to have Laboso’s name substituted with his. Kenya has announced 150 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours from a sample size of 3,117. The country’s caseload is now at 101,159. This is a representation of 4.8 percent positivity rate. Of the new cases, 138 are Kenyans and 12 foreign nationals aged between two months and 74 years old. Sadly, three more patients have succumbed to the virus bringing the death toll to 1,769. Consequently, 70 patients have recovered from the virus. 43 from the home based isolation and care, while 27 are from various facilities. The total recoveries now stand at 84,060. A ghastly road accident involving 5 vehicles in Uganda has left 32 people dead and several others nursing serious injuries. The accident took place yesterday night at Kihogo along Hima-Rugendabara road in the Western District of Kasese. The High Court has suspended all resolutions and decisions that were arrived at during last month’s Law Society of Kenya (LSK) General meeting. In a ruling by Justice Weldon Korir today, Wednesday 3, 2021, the implementation of the resolutions was ceased and all activities arising from the same suspended. 23 High School students have been arrested for attempted arson. 12 were from Ingotse Boy High School in Kakamega county while 11 were from Kibabii High school in Bungoma County. The 11 Kibabii High school students were found with petrol in their dormitory. The construction of Wote Stadium will be completed by the National Youth Service (NYS) as the previous contractor has been stopped over under-performance, CS Amina Mohamed has confirmed. Late MP Justus Murunga’s mistress, Agnes Wangui has reportedly hired a private investigator to evaluate the estate left behind by the deceased. 83 people have tested positive for COVID-19 out of a sample size of 1,732 tested in the last 24 hours. The total confirmed positive cases in the country are now 100,856.
