Detectives based at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) have seized Cocaine, Methamphetamine that was on transit to Australia, India. According to a tweet by the DCI, the narcotics were concealed in books and hairbands before being discovered. The books were reportedly concealed and upon opening, each book contained certain amounts of methamphetamine. On the other hand, the hair bands contained white substances which were revealed to have been cocaine on transit from Juba, South Sudan, en route to India. President Donald Trump’s Youtube channel has been suspended for at least one week or longer over incitement. According to Youtube in an interview with CNN Business, Trump posted a video that was aimed at inciting the public. It has since been removed. Alexandria Kibet has been charged with defrauding a government official Sh2.9million while disguised as an officer from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI). Appearing before Senior Principal Magistrate Paul Biwott, Kibet denied the charges levelled against him. According to K24, Kibet who hails from Baringo county reportedly defrauded Zakayo Chirchir. Kenya has announced 98 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. This brings the country’s caseload to 98,432 after a sample size of 3,369 was tested. The youngest of the confirmed cases is a three-year-old child with the oldest aged 85 years. On a sad note, 3 patients have succumbed to the virus bringing the tally for fatalities in the country to 1,716. The Kenya Human Rights Commission (KNHCR) has condemned the violation of human rights by Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni ahead of the general elections scheduled for January 14, 2021. Through a statement on Twitter, KCHR cited that Ugandans, together with opposition presidential candidates, their supporters and journalists have been subjected to different forms of violence and gross violation of human rights supported by militia groups. 63 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Kenya in the last 24 hours. This was from a sample size of 2,134. The country’s caseload is now at 98,334. On a sad note, 3 people have also succumbed to the virus. The tally for fatalities is now at 1,713. The tally for recoveries has also risen to 81,101 after 226 patients recovered and were discharged.  221 being from the Home-Based Care Program, while 5 have been discharged from various hospitals. 93% of the new confirmed cases are asymptomatic. Scientists have discovered two dwarf giraffes, one in Uganda and another in an undisclosed location in Namibia. Giraffes are widely known for their height that makes them stand out among other animals. Most grow to 15 – 20 feet, approximately 4.5 – 6 meters tall. According to scientists, an 8 1/2-foot (2.6 meter) giraffe was discovered in Namibia hence came as a surprise. Kenya has recorded 230 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours. This was from a sample size of 6,515. The country’s caseload is now at 98,184. Of the new cases, 221 are Kenyans while nine are foreigners. Consequently, 152 are male and 78 are female while the youngest is a two-year-old child and the oldest is 77. Supreme Court Judge Justice Njoki Ndung’u’s driver has reportedly been attacked in Githurai and the official car stolen. According to Citizen, witnesses recount that at the time of the attack, Justice Njoki was not at the scene in Mwihoko, Githurai. According to detectives, a fresh twist has been added to the murder with more investigations ongoing after the son was found after he had gone missing.
