On a sad note, 6 more patients have succumbed to the virus raising the cumulative fatalities in Kenya to 1,664. Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has snubbed the invite by the Independent Policing and Oversight Authority (IPOA) following claims of harassment by police. The former county boss had been invited to appear before IPOA on December 21. He is however yet to show up. “He never appeared. Former Chief Justice Evans Gicheru has passed on. Gicheru served as the 12th Chief Justice of the country after being appointed by former President Mwai Kibaki. He retired in 2011. Winnie Achieng’, a woman whose car plunged into the ocean earlier today has died in hospital aged 33. The vehicle, a Toyota Vits of registration KCY 556B had two occupants, Achieng’ and her son. 154 more people have tested positive for Covid-19, from 3,262 samples tested in the last 24 hours, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe announced on Tuesday. The number of cases confirmed in the country now stands at 94,768. “It, therefore, means that Kenya has now surpassed over the 1 million mark in terms of testing. Nigerian man, Edwin Chukwudiebere Okoye who was accused of obtaining money from a woman under false pretense has been released. Okoye has been released on Sh3 million bond or Sh2 million cash bail and has been ordered to present his passport in court.
