Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has been arrested over a shooting incident at a Kilimani joint.
The MP is currently being held at the Kilimani Police Station for fatally injuring a B-Club disk-jockey identified as Felix Orinda or Dj Evolve and “The LowKey Assassin” on Instagram.
The victim is receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital and is admitted at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Witnesses also indicate that Babu did not flee the scene of incident.
The DCI has noted that the legislator is in lawful custody as investigations into the matter continue.
“Detectives based at Kilimani have today arrested Hon Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino, Member of Parliament for Embakasi East following a shooting incident at B Club located along Galana Road within Kilimani. The MP is in lawful custody as further investigations continue,” DCI tweeted.
Police are yet to recover the gun used and the spent cartridge.

Another witness told the Star, that it was a chaotic scene at B-Club as ladies wailed and men ran around. The watchmen, they indicated, were also in panic mode.
Reports also indicate that the matter was reported by the club Security Manager George Otieno following the 7am incident.
Mr Otieno said that Babu got into an argument with the DJ and shortly after drew his firearm and shot the victim in the neck.
Orinda was rushed to the hospital by the B-Club management.
“He then drew his pistol and shot the DJ on the neck. The victim was rushed to the hospital by the management,” the police report read.
Babu Owino is a controversial MP who has been known to throw utterances which sometimes raise political temperatures. He was recently in the news for promising that Raila Odinga will be president by “ballot or bullet.”
