Boda Boda chairman found shot dead in Embu

Police in Mbeere North, Embu County, launched an investigation into the killing of a 47-year-old boda boda chairman whose body was discovered in the bush near a roadside in Kariru Sub-location.
The body of Harrison Waweru Kinyanjui was found on Sunday, September 13, 2026, in Mbuguri Village, within Kiangombe Location, lying in a pool of blood.
Police officers visited the scene and established that the deceased had sustained a gunshot wound slightly beneath his right ear.
Two pistol cartridges of unknown calibre were also recovered at the scene.
The deceased’s wife told police that Waweru was the chairman of boda boda riders in Siakago Township. She said he was last seen at around noon on September 2, 2026, after taking her to the NG-CDF Mbeere North office in Siakago.
The scene was processed by Crime Scene Investigation officers from Embu, and the body was moved to Embu Level 5 Hospital mortuary pending an autopsy.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the killing and pursuing leads to establish the identity of the shooter and the motive.
And police in Uriri, Migori County, have launched investigations into the suspected murder of a 35-year-old man whose body was found along a murram road on Sunday morning.
The body of Wycliffe Okelo Osodo was discovered at around 6:30 a.m. by a boda boda rider, approximately 50 metres off the Kisii-Migori Road.
Police officers visited the scene and established that the deceased was a resident of Wingdoung Village, Kawere 2B Sub-location, in Uriri Sub-County.
Police said the body had several visible injuries inflicted by a sharp object on both thighs.
The scene was processed, and the body was moved to the Migori Level IV Hospital mortuary, where it is being preserved pending a post-mortem examination.
Police have commenced investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the death and identify those responsible.
Meanwhile, detectives in Mombasa are investigating the suspected murder of a 32-year-old watchman who was allegedly assaulted and hit on the head with a stone by three men at a yard in Shimanzi.
Police visited the scene, where they established that the deceased, identified as Sila Nyaga, had been attacked at around 3:30 a.m.
Nyaga, who worked as a watchman at the yard, was allegedly assaulted by three men said to be his friends. The attackers reportedly accused him of having assaulted one of them recently.
The report states that Nyaga sustained visible head injuries and died at the scene. The three suspects fled after the incident, and efforts to trace and arrest them were underway.
Police processed the scene before moving the body to the Coast General Hospital mortuary, where it is being preserved pending an autopsy.
