Property of unknown value went up in flame after a group of boda boda operators torched two houses belonging to a suspected thief in Lwanda area, Nyatike sub county, Migori County today evening(Friday 10th Nov 2017).
The last night attack (Friday 10th Nov 2017)by boda boda operators from Alendu and Sori area left the two houses and all the property inside them burnt.
Confirming the incident the area chief Mr.James Oloo said the boda boda operators also took from the house some items they claim were stolen by the suspect before setting the house on fire and surrendered the items at DO’s office in Sori town.
Mr.Oloo said the attack came a few days after police in Nyatike intercepted some items that were stolen in the house of the suspect.

He said the fateful incident occurred when the suspect identified was Oketch was away from home.
The area chief said he is collaborating with the police officers to probe the incident and appealed to the locals to stop taking law into their hands saying that there are legal channels through which such cases can be handled amicably.
