Bodaboda rider murdered, body hanged to fake suicide in Kirinyaga

The body of a bodaboda rider was found hanged on a tree after he had been murdered elsewhere in Baricho, Kirinyaga County.
Police said the hanging was meant to fake a suicide incident in the Mukithi village.
The body of Godfrey Kinyua Nguru, 28 was found hanging on a tree and it was later established that the deceased was murdered elsewhere and brought to the scene.
His motorcycle was abandoned about 200 meters from the crime scene.
The body which had visible injuries on the right hand near wrist and the neck was moved to Kerugoya Referral hospital waiting postmortem
Elsewhere in Kiugoine, Nakuru County, a man and his friend were arrested after fatally assaulting a woman in a domestic fight.
Neighbours had called police to report the two were assaulting the woman.
She was rescued and rushed to hospital where she succumbed to the injuries in the June 30 incident.
It was later established the two who include the husband had a disagreement with Mary Wanjiru, 36 which went physical.
They were together and were on the way home when a disagreement ensued resulting to a fight that went to the home.
The two punched her in the head and chest using their fists flooring her, police said.
She was rushed to Kabatini dispensary where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
The body was later moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.
The two were detained to help in ongoing investigations, police said.
In Turkana, a man was arrested after a woman he was accused of assaulting died in hospital.
Police said the deceased identified as Mercyline Ajiko, 36 succumbed to her injuries while receiving treatment at a local hospital on Sunday evening.
Preliminary investigations reveals that there was a domestic misunderstanding between the accused and the deceased which led to the fight that happened in Kailoseget village in Kanamkemer area.
The accused husband was arrested pending investigations into murder, police said.
