Body of boy found floating in sewage treatment plant in Kahawa West

The body of a young boy aged between two and four years has been recovered from a sewage treatment plant at the Farmers Choice facility in Kahawa West, Nairobi.
The body was discovered floating in the treatment plant on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, police said.
Police officers visited the facility and retrieved the body.
The boy had no visible injuries, according to preliminary police findings.
The scene was processed and documented by CSI officers before the body was moved to the City Mortuary.
The remains are being preserved pending identification and an autopsy as police investigate the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.
Police said they are investigating the motive of the incident, if any.
Meanwhile, a 44-year-old man was found dead with a deep wound on his face at his home in Iyabo Village, Mumias West Sub-County, Kakamega County.
The body of Zakayo Muganda Ateya was discovered in the sitting room of his house on October 6, 2026.
Police were alerted and visited the scene.
Preliminary investigations established that Ateya lived alone and was last seen alive by his mother at around 7:30pm on Monday when she served him supper.
His 17-year-old daughter, who is a boarding school student, arrived home at around 9am on Tuesday to collect school fees and found her father lying dead in the sitting room.
Police documented and processed the scene before moving the body to Butere Sub-County Hospital mortuary, where it is being preserved pending an autopsy.
Investigations have been launched to establish the circumstances surrounding his death and identify the person responsible.
