Detectives are investigating the murder of a 17-year-old boy in a village in Asembo, Siaya County.

Police said the incident happened on Sunday morning as the victim and a friend were leaving a night vigil in Boi village.

The motive of the murder was not immediately known. The victim’s body was found lying on the roadside with a deep cut in the neck. The second victim also had a deep cut and was rushed to a local hospital and admitted in a serious but stable condition, police said.

The surviving victim told police he can identify their assailants. The body of the deceased was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other investigations.

Elsewhere in Rongai, Nakuru County, a man died in hospital after he had been assaulted in an incident.

Police said they are now investigating murder in the incident that happened on March 20.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending identification and autopsy.

In Lumakanda, Kakamega County, the body of one Paolo Mukhwana, 40 was found lying on the roadside after suspected murder.

Police said the body had visible injuries in the head.

The deceased was a welder in the area and the motive of the murder was not immediately known, police said of the March 22 incident as the body was moved to the mortuary for autopsy.

In Ndigwa, Rarieda, Siaya County, the body of one Nicholas Okoth was found lying at a local centre after a suspected murder.

Police said the body did not have any visible injuries when it was discovered on Sunday by locals and later moved to the mortuary for autopsy.

And police said they arrested a suspect in the murder of one Abdirahman Abdikadir Adow in Garissa Town.

The suspect is said to be a friend to the deceased and he stabbed him fatally on March 21 in the area.

Police said the suspect would be processed for arraignment for murder.
