Chandler Massey is an American actor and singer best known for his groundbreaking role as Will Horton on the long-running NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives.
Raised in Norcross, Georgia, Massey grew up in a supportive family environment that nurtured his passion for the performing arts.
The son of Lewis A. Massey, a former Secretary of State of Georgia, and Amy Reichard Massey, Chandler showed an early interest in acting, participating in school plays and drama club activities during his time at Norcross High School, from which he graduated in 2009.
After moving to Los Angeles to attend UCLA, Massey’s career took off when he landed the role of Will Horton in 2010.

Massey’s portrayal of Will, a character who navigates complex personal challenges including coming out as gay, resonated deeply with audiences and marked a significant moment in daytime television history.
He remained in the role until 2013, when he chose to leave to focus on his studies at UCLA, though the door was left open for his return.
True to form, Massey reprised the role in 2017, delighting fans and continuing to build on his character’s legacy, airing new episodes starting September 15, 2017.
Beyond Days of Our Lives, Massey has expanded his portfolio with guest appearances on shows like One Tree Hill, Army Wives, and Eastbound & Down, as well as roles in films such as 16-Love (2011) and Hallmark movies like Next Stop Christmas (2021) and Heart of the Matter (2022).
Accolades
Massey made history as the first actor to win a Daytime Emmy Award for portraying a gay character, earning the Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series award in 2012.
This achievement was followed by two more consecutive wins in the same category in 2013 and 2014, making him one of only a few actors to secure three straight victories in this category.
His portrayal of Will Horton continued to earn praise, leading to nominations for the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2018 and 2020.
