Chebukati Denies Walking Out Of Meeting, Says Commission Intact

CHEBUKATIIEBC Chairman, Wafula Chebukati has denied storming out of a critical meeting with other commissioners on Wednesday.

They were discussing the way forward after NASA’s Raila Odinga together with his deputy, Kalonzo Musyoka withdrew their candidature from the October 26 polls.

But speaking in Eldoret, the chair has said that the commission is solid, despite fears of a divided body.

He also reiterated that Odinga and Kalonzo will be on the ballot saying that he is yet to ‘withdraw lawfully.’

“There may be differences of opinion but the commission is united and committed to deliver a credible, free and fair elections,” Chebukati said.

The commission on Friday said that they were prepared for the polls that are 15 days away.

The commission has maintained Safaricom as its network provider and ballot printing firm, Al Ghurair amid opposition.
