    Coast Regional Coordinator Nelson Marwa

Coast Regional Coordinator Nelson Marwa has called on the Kuria community to report gangsters who terrorize the local to security agencies.

Marwa who hails from the Minority Kuria Community in Migori County asked his people to embrace peace and unity among themselves so as to improve the livelihood.

He regretted that for many years peace have been derailed by cases of insecurity due to cattle rustling, burglary and lack of proper infrastructure in the two Sub-Counties.

Marwa who was addressing the residents of Ntimaru market during the launch of the Last Mile project funded by the World Bank noted that Kuria residents must work security agencies in fighting insecurity.

He said the Sh10million project will help light up Ntimaru market and other nearby trading centers in both Kuria East and Kuria West.

Inter-clan and border clashes has for years derailed development in the region with gun menace being a headache for security operators as many civilians remain armed.

The leaders also launched street lighting in Mabera Sub-County in Kuria West which is major step reinforcing deteriorating security in Kuria community which borders neighboring Tanzania.

He called on the local administration of chiefs and their assistants to work closely with the County Commissioner arresting insecurity in the region.

Migori County Commissioner Joseph Rotich speaking at the same event called the people with illegal firearms to surrender to the government.
