Cop collapses and dies outside Kisii home

Police are investigating an incident where a police officer collapsed and died in an incident in Kiango, Magena, Kisii County.

Sergeant Good Mufoya was the charge of Kiango patrol base when he died.

He had walked out of his house to respond to his mobile phone when he collapsed outside, witnesses said of the December 23, 2025 incident. His colleagues described him as a hardworking officer.

The cause of the death was not immediately established. The body was moved to the local mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.

Elsewhere in Embaringo, Kieni, Nyeri County, a 78-year-old man was found dead in his bed after he had been assaulted by a person known to him in an altercation.

The deceased identified as James Mubia did not seek medical attention. He was found dead in his bed and the body moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy, police said.

In Homa Bay’s Pap Ndege area, a body of a man was found in a maize plantation after suspected murder.

The man had been stabbed and the body dumped near the local Kabunde airstrip fence. She had been stabbed in the head. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and identification.

In Kiugoine, Nakuru County a man was lynched in an alleged failed robbery incident. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

And a Portuguese national aged 74 was found dead in his house in Capitol Hill area, Nairobi.

He was identified as Mario Verissimo Horta lopes, 74, police said.

He was found lying unconscious in his apartment and rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

Police said they are yet to know what caused the death.
