Cop found dead in his house in Nyamira

Police in Nyamira are investigating the sudden death of a police officer who was found lifeless inside his house at the police lines.
According to the police, constable Evans Monari Osiemo, who was attached as a prosecution liaison officer in the area, had not reported on duty since May 19, 2026.
His colleagues proceeded to his residence after concerns were raised, but found the door locked. It was then forcibly opened.
Upon entry, the officer was found lying dead on his bed facing upwards, with his feet touching the floor and no visible physical injuries observed.
Police said the house was thoroughly searched and several medical drugs were recovered from the scene.
Scenes of Crime investigators documented and processed the scene before the body was moved to Nyamira County Referral Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem examination.
Investigations into the cause of death are ongoing, with the case treated as pending under inquiry.
And a 36-year-old woman was killed following a domestic dispute in Matuu, Machakos, in an incident now under investigation by police in Matungulu Sub-County.
The incident occurred on May 21, 2026 at around 7:30 am at Kwale Centre in Matuu Location.
Locals reported that a man was assaulting his wife, Jackline Mbeke, 36.
Police officers who responded to the scene established that the couple had an altercation that escalated into violence, during which the suspect allegedly used a sharp object to attack the woman.
The deceased sustained a deep cut on the forehead and injuries to the right hand and died at the scene.
The suspect was also found with head injuries and was in serious condition. He was arrested and escorted to Kangundo Hospital for treatment under police guard.
The body was moved to Kangundo Mortuary awaiting postmortem examination as investigations continue.
Meanwhile, police in Kakamega are investigating a suspected murder after a 40-year-old man was found dead inside his home following a reported family altercation.
According to police, one Philip Ngaira Miheso had been found lying lifeless inside his house.
Police officers found the body of the deceased lying inside the house with a deep head injury and both legs fractured.
Police also established that there had been a commotion at the homestead the previous day involving family members.
Investigators arrested six suspects in connection with the incident. The scene was processed and documented before the body was moved to Kakamega County General Hospital mortuary pending postmortem examination.
Police said investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death are ongoing.
