    High Court Orders Admistrator To Manage Nakumatt Financial Affairs

    Nakumatt has received some reprieve after the High court allowed creditors to select a n administrators to manage the stranded retailer.

    The court has ordered that Peter Obondo Kahi to be appointed as an administrator and he would be responsible for making sure that all the creditors meet within the next 60 days.

    Nakumatt had applied to be allowed to run under insolvency to convince their suppliers that their goods would not be taken away by the landlords.

    Several companies have expressed interest in Nakumatt’s restocking, they include;

    Unilever Kenya, Aquamist Water, Mjengo Limited, Bidco Africa, Jackys Limited, Proctor & Allan, Aspendos Dairies and Brookside Dairy, Kevian Kenya, Mill Bakers, Gal Baking, DPL Festive and Kapa Oil Refineries.
