    COVID-19 Cases In Kenya Surpass 85,000 Mark As 10 Succumb

    Kenya has announced 961 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours bringing the country’s caseload to 85,130. This was after a sample size of 7,780 was tested.

    From the new cases, 944 were Kenyans while 17 were foreigners. The youngest is a five-month-old infant and the oldest is aged 94.

    Consequently, in terms of gender distribution, 626 are males while 335 are females.

    On a sad note, 10 patients have ideally succumbed to the virus bringing the tally for fatalities to 1,484.

    854 have consequently recovered from the virus with the tally for recoveries’ now at 54,464. 686 are from the home-based care programme and 168 from various hospital facilities across the country.

    Countydistribution is as follows: Nairobi 203, Nakuru 118, Kilifi 83 cases , Kirinyaga 71, Kericho 57, Uasin Gishu 52, Embu 41, Busia 40, Nyandarua 24, Kiambu, 23, Kisumu 22, Isiolo 21, Nyeri 18 new, Nandi 16, Murang’a 14, Homa Bay 13, and Kakamega 12, Nyamira 9, Turkana 8, Kwale 7, Trans Nzoia 7, Samburu 6, Vihiga 6, Siaya 6, Taita Taveta 5, Baringo 5, Kisii 5, Machakos 4, West Pokot 4, Meru 2, Mandera 2, Laikipia 2, Elgeyo Marakwet 2, Bomet, Garissa, Bungoma, Marsabit and Kitui had one case each.
