Travelers plying the Uganda-Rwanda border were left stranded since Wednesday after the Gatuna border was closed.
Government spokesman Ofwono Opondo accused Rwanda of refusing to allow both private and public vehicles from entering Uganda since Wednesday evening. H said that even school going children were being denied from crossing to Uganda for school.
The Rwanda Revenue Authority however in a statement said that they were stopping Ugandan cargo trucks from entering Rwanda in Katuna as they tried to complete the infrastructure of the road. Bus companies plying the Uganda -Rwanda route have been forced to cancel their bookings. The statement also said that the trucks were being redirected to other border points.
This is Modern Coast bus company issued a statement to its passengers saying that since the Gatuna border has been closed temporarily, “this will affect travel into and out of Rwanda. We will update you on further developments.”the latest feud at the border for the two countries.

In the recent past Rwanda had accused police in Kampala of unlawfully arresting its citizen and subjected to torture.Uganda has avoided refuted those claims stating that those arrested were only those suspected to be spying. Rwanda had warned their citizens against going to Uganda.
