    CS Amina Mohamed To Hold Consultative Meetings With Student Council To Discuss Education Crisis

    The education cabinet secretary, Amina Mohamed is set to meet with university council chairs today at 2pm to discuss solutions to end the strike. This comes weeks after the court ordered the lecturers to return to work and termed the strike as illegal.

    Ambassador Amina Mohammed had initially met with some student leaders from various universities in  to find peaceful ways to resolve their grievances. She has advised the students to avoid violent reactions when airing their pleas and encouraged a peaceful diplomatic approach.

    Students have been aggrieved by the disrupted learning in institutions due to the lecturers strike and the poor learning environment in institutions.

    Universities have been asked to impose disciplinary measures on lecturers who fail to resume their duty and unions disobeying court orders will be the first ones to be disciplined.

    Inter Public Universities Council’s Consultative Forum (IPUCCF) Chairperson, Paul Kanyari urged universities to take stern actions on staff who do not report to duty by Monday, 9th April as directed by court.
