CS Chirchir’s Father Dies

Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport Davis Chirchir has been bereaved following the death of his father, Mzee Edwin Koech.

Leaders from across government paid tribute to the late Koech, describing him as a respected figure whose influence extended beyond his immediate family.

Basic Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Bitok said the late Koech was a strong and dependable pillar who offered guidance and wisdom to many.

“As we mourn his loss, we also honour and celebrate a life defined by values, service and a commitment to uplifting others. May his legacy continue to inspire, and may the family find strength, comfort and peace during this difficult time,” Bitok said.

Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot also conveyed his condolences, noting the far-reaching impact of Koech’s life.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the family of Davis Chirchir following the loss of his father Edwin Koech,” Cheruiyot said.

He described the late Koech as a guiding figure and mentor to many, praising his leadership and the values he instilled in those around him.

“Mzee Koech stood as a strong guiding pillar and played a father figure to countless people, providing invaluable mentorship beyond his immediate and extended family,” he added.
