The Cabinet secretary in the ministry of health Sicily Kariuki has instructed the ministries lawyers to inquire about Roundup herbicide causing cancer from the Ministry of Agriculture.
The letter was addressed to Agriculture CS Mwangi Kiunjuri.
The Roundup herbicide is said to contain glyphosate which is said to cause cancer. The herbicide is already widely used in the country by farmers to get rid of weeds.

A Court in San Francisco in the USA found that a man had develop cancer from exposure to Roundup weedkiller he used in his yard.
This this is second case to go to trial over the alleged harms of the Roundup pesticide. Last year there were mass protests in Europe over the extension of the glyphosate. They argued that scientists had established that the chemical was carcinogenic
