CSs Ogamba, Duale, and Chirchir Announce Govt Board Appointments

The government has made several new appointments to key state boards in the health, transport and education sectors.
In a gazette notice dated November 7, 2025, Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale appointed Mary Nafula, Dr. Julius Lamaon, Dr. Benson Nyambega and Anne Korir as members of the Board of Trustees of the National Cancer Institute of Kenya. They will serve for a period of three years.
CS Duale also appointed Dr. Linett Ongeri, Simon Githui, Dr. Harun Hassan and Dr. Dennis Wamalwa to the Board of Directors of the Kenya Board of Mental Health, also for three years.
In addition, Dr. Maurice K’Odhiambo, Dr. Tadudi Aly Oma and Serah Mutu Kisilu were named as members of the Pharmacy and Poisons Board for the same term. Dr. Isha Anand and Bernard Kimutai Maiyo were reappointed to continue serving on the board for another three years.
Duale also reappointed Dr. Beatrice Maingi as a member of the Kenya Board of Mental Health for a three-year term.
Meanwhile, Roads and Transport Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir appointed Anne Njeri Gitau to the Aeronautical Search and Rescue Committee for a one-year term.
In the education sector, Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba appointed Dr. Charles Momanyi and Irene Chebet Chesire to the Council of Alupe University for three years. He also named Virginia Kimani as the non-executive chairperson of the council, and appointed Leonard Kinyulusi, Mohamed Ali H. Dahir and Joseph Vincent M. Oyile as members for the same period.
CS Ogamba further appointed Dorcas Mugambi and Noor Dahir Yusuf to the Council of Tom Mboya University, while Augusta N. Abate was named the non-executive chairperson and Lily C. Koech a member.
At Kisumu National Polytechnic, Judah Ochieng Abekah was appointed chairperson of the council, with Ismael Noo Ruth Mounde, Dancun Odhiambo Oginga and Meissy Naeku Janet named as members. Benedette Waswa Sabuni was reappointed to the council for another three years.
