Cyclist collapses and dies along Kisii-Ogembo Highway

Police are investigating an incident where a cyclist collapsed and died along the Kisii-Ogembo highway.
The incident happened near Itumbe as three cyclists were racing from Ogembo towards Kisii Town. Police identified the deceased as Meshak Eyanai, 21 who was a student at the Kisii National Polytechnic.
He collapsed and died on the roadside on Saturday as they cycled for fun, officials said. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
In Ahero, Kisumu County, a man was found dead in his house.
Police said the body of William Omondi Ogeo, 35 had decomposed when it was discovered and later moved to the mortuary.
Neighbours had complained of being disturbed by a bad smell from the house that prompted them to check the source. The cause of the death was not immediately known.
In Suna, Migori County, a decomposed body of one Oketch Juma, 49 was found lying on his bed in his house after a sudden death.
Police said they were yet to establish the cause of the death of the man who lived alone there.
The neighbours said they had not seen him for more than a week before his body was found in the house and moved to the mortuary for autopsy.
Elsewhere in Oloolua, Kajiado County, a man was found dead after he had been attacked and stung by bees.
The incident happened in the Kerarapon area on Saturday. The man’s body was found under beehives on a private farm long after he had been attacked. The owner of the farm told police he and his workers had gone to harvest honey from the beehives when they stumbled on the body of the man.
They rushed him to a nearby hospital in Ngong where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police were called to the scene and helped to move the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
