Makueni County Police Commander Joseph ole Naipeyan confirmed the arrest of Daudi Nzomo in Nguu Masumba, Kibwezi West Constituency.
David popularly known as Daudi was finally arrested on Thursday after an uproar on social media from a video of him mercilessly beating his wife, Winfred Mwende, went viral.
It was reported that Winfred was a minor because of her small frame but she is actually 35 years old and a mother of three.

The video elicited a huge reaction that led the Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji to direct the Directorate of Criminal Investigations to arrest and charge Mr Nzomo.
Winfred had spoken saying that her husband normally assaults her but she perseveres for the sake of the marriage until this happened to her.
The DPP had called for the bystanders recording the video to also be arrested. Only Mr Nzomo has been arrested so far.
