Davika Hoorne, widely known by her nickname Mai, is a celebrated Thai actress, model, singer, and YouTuber.
Born on May 16, 1992, in Bangkok, Thailand, she is of mixed Thai-Belgian heritage, with a Belgian father named Danny Hoorne and a Thai mother named Rattanakorn Chomyong.
Her mother gave her the nickname “Mai” after the famous Thai singer Mai Charoenpura.
Her parents divorced when she was 10 years old, after which she was primarily raised by her mother and aunt.
In a gesture of support, Davika purchased a house in Thailand for her father and his new family following his retirement in 2014.
She graduated with a degree in Communication Arts from Rangsit University and stands at an impressive height of 1.75 meters, contributing to her striking presence in modeling and on screen.

Davika has two siblings, Davinia Hoorne and Elena Hoorne.

Career
Hoorne began her career in modeling as a teenager before making her acting debut in 2010 with a leading role in the television series Ngao Kammathep on Channel 7.
She quickly rose to prominence and achieved massive fame in 2013 as the female lead in Pee Mak, Thailand’s highest-grossing film of all time, alongside Mario Maurer.
This horror-comedy solidified her status as a top star.

She continued to shine in both film and television, delivering standout performances in the romantic comedy Heart Attack (also known as Freelance) in 2015, directed by Nawapol Thamrongrattanarit, and Suddenly Twenty in 2016.
After her contract with Channel 7 ended in 2015, she transitioned to freelance work and later collaborated with platforms like GMMTV, starring in popular series such as Astrophile in 2022 opposite Vachirawit Chivaaree.
Her career has expanded internationally, with roles in projects like the black comedy series 6ixtynin9 (2023) and the historical drama The Empress of Ayodhaya (2024).
In recent years, she has ventured into more diverse genres, including her 2025 film A Useful Ghost.
Beyond acting, Davika has built a strong presence in fashion as Gucci’s first Thai global ambassador since 2022 and a House Friend for Bulgari in the South Asia Pacific region, along with endorsements, singing contributions, and YouTube content.

Hoorne won Best Actress at the 25th Suphannahong National Film Awards (also known as Thailand National Film Association Awards) for Heart Attack in 2016, along with Best Actress honors at the Thai Film Directors Association Awards for the same film and again for Suddenly Twenty in consecutive years.
She secured Best Actress at the Bangkok Critics Assembly Awards and multiple wins from the Kom Chad Luek Awards and Starpics Thai Films Awards.
In television and digital formats, she received the Outstanding Leading Actress award at the 39th TV Gold Awards for The Empress of Ayodhaya in 2025 and Best Actress in a Webseries at the 15th Nataraj Awards for 6ixtynin9 in 2024.
Internationally, she claimed Best Global Teleplay Leading Actress at the 36th Global Arts and Television Huading Awards in 2023.
Her early career accolades include Female Rising Star at the 6th OK! Awards in 2011 and various nominations and wins from Siam Dara Star Awards and Mekhala Television Awards.
