DCI boss Amin hosts Interpol’s head of global outreach, discuss modernizing operations

Strengthening global cooperation in the fight against transnational crime: Director of Criminal Investigations Mohamed Amin hosts INTERPOL’s Director of Global Outreach and Regional Support Abdulaziz Obaidalla for high-level talks at DCI Headquarters, Nairobi.

The meeting addressed three strategic priorities, which included strengthening international policing cooperation, modernising operational systems, and enhancing public service delivery through collaborative law enforcement.
Speaking in his capacity as Africa’s Delegate to the INTERPOL Executive Committee, Amin reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to deepening partnerships that drive regional and global security, including intelligence sharing and coordinated action against transnational crime.
Abdulaziz commended the Directorate of Criminal Investigations for its exemplary leadership and proactive engagement within the INTERPOL framework.
He noted that Kenya continues to serve as a critical anchor for regional security cooperation and expressed INTERPOL’s readiness to further support the DCI through enhanced technical assistance, capacity development, and access to advanced policing tools and intelligence networks.
The talks were followed with a visit to the NCB offices, where the delegation engaged directly with officers on operational cooperation, capacity building, and strategies to counter emerging security threats.
The engagement underscores the deep and enduring partnership between the Directorate of Criminal Investigations and INTERPOL, and a shared resolve to advance international security through effective, coordinated policing.
Also present during the meeting were Apolo Africa, Head of the INTERPOL Regional Bureau for Eastern Africa Ibrahim Jillo, Commandant of the National Criminal Investigations Academy (NCIA), Lawrence Some, Personal Assistant to the Director DCI and Mutisya Mueni of the National Central Bureau (NCB), Nairobi.
