Presidential Debate Organizers Shaking Things Up, Interesting

The presidential debate scheduled for July 10 and 24, has taken an interesting turn of events.

Debate organizers on Thursday made a few changes to the rules. The rule will have candidates with less than 5% popularity in the polls, participate in parallel debates but on the same day.

“Candidates with less than five percent popular support in opinion polls will take part in separate pool events to be conducted on the same day,” read a statement sent to newsrooms.

What that means, is that only the president, Uhuru Kenyatta, and NASA’s, Raila Odinga will be the going head to head to head, no side shows.

The ‘underdogs’ will have to wait for their turn as they watch the ‘top dogs’ go at it.

The other candidates who will have to settle for the parallel debate include Cyrus Jirongo, Ekuru Aukot, Abduba Dida, Joseph Nyaga, Japheth Kavinga and Michael Wainaina.
