Decomposed body of man found near railway line in Voi

Police are investigating a possible murder after a decomposed body of a man was found next to a railway line in Voi, Taita Taveta County.
The body was found at a bridge under the Meter Gauge Railways on June 17 and seemed to have either been dumped there or hit by a speeding train.
According to police, the body had some physical injuries on the neck and one foot was partially cut off. The police were unable to ascertain how the man died.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending identification and autopsy.
Meanwhile, a 25-year-old woman died in an electrocution incident near a fence in Kanamkemer village, Lodwar, Turkana County.
Police said Irene Ewoton had gone for a short call outside a house and accidentally touched a fence connected to a live wire.
She was electrocuted and rushed to hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival. The body was moved to the local mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.
In Chwele, Bungoma County’s Sikusi village, a man died in a bar in an incident. Police said one Nick Wasubile, 19 had been in a bar in the area and imbibed drinks before he requested to rest therein on Wednesday.
He did not wake up until the following day at 5 am when the management decided to wake him up only to find him unresponsive.
He was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.
Police said they are investigating the incident. Attendants at the bar were questioned as part of the probe and said the man had taken an unknown quantity of alcohol before he blacked out and failed to wake up.
Police said they hope the planned autopsy will reveal the cause of the death.
